So, I found this really cool program on the internet called Stories In Flight/ FlickrPoet. You can find it at http://www.storiesinflight.com/flickrpoet/
All you have to do is paste a poem or story into it and it searches flicker for pictures that match the words. It's a pretty sweet way to illustrate your poems. And as you all know I love to illustrate my poems with pictures so it's the perfect tool for me!
So for October, I'm going to use this tool for my poems. Hope you enjoy it! Check it out yourself sometime.
As an example, I thought I'd use a poems I really love. My poems to follow...
Tennyson 'The Princess' (1847)
"There has fallen a splendid tear
From the passion-flower at the gate.
She is coming, my dove, my dear;
She is coming, my life, my fate;
The red rose cries, "She is near, she is near";
And the white rose weeps, "She is late";
The larkspur listens, "I hear, I hear";
And the lily whispers, "I wait."
My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a watered shoot;

Notes:
Sorry if the images are small I had to screen shot them, haven't figured out if there's an easier way to get the image. If you figure it out let me know. If you click on them it should enlarge them.
Also, I got the title idea for this post from this really sweet and awesome girl who is my sister's best friend. Her blog "Poet and I didn't Know It" is fantastic. She's an amazing poet, check her out http://www.lenarigby.blogspot.com/.
